After the European branch was attacked by a cyber attack, Koei Tecmo’s official website has been temporarily closed.
In a press release issued on December 29, Koei Tecmo confirmed that the forum login details of approximately 65,000 accounts had been leaked. This includes account name, password (in encrypted state) and email address. Fortunately, there seems to be no credit card details and customer or employee information stolen.
If you navigate to the Koei Tecmo website in the US or Europe, you will see the following message:
“Because this website may be attacked by external networks, we temporarily shut it down while investigating this issue.”;
It is recommended that anyone with a Koei Tecmo account update their password as soon as possible.
This latest cyber attack occurred after Capcom’s large-scale leak last month, which allegedly leaked about 1 terabyte of sensitive data and appeared to have disclosed many of the company’s upcoming projects in advance.
Koei Tecmo recently assisted Hyrule Warriors: Age of Disaster And will release Ryza Studio 2 On the Switch early next year.
