Bangladesh quarterback Joe Burrow has a clever idea how to spend all the money in the four-year, $36.1 million guarantee contract he signed this week.
Or actually how to not spend money.
Burrow said on Friday that he did not plan to spend a penny to make money from Bangladeshis. He will live on the money he earns from endorsements and use all the money in the NFL salary for savings and investments.
“I don’t plan to spend any contract money,” Burrow said. “I just rely on marketing money to live, and then deposit it into my bank account.”
That is wise. There are many professional athletes who made tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars and then went bankrupt.
