The Tennessee volunteers significantly increased their already solid offensive on Wednesday night, when the SEC approved OL Cade Mays’ qualifications.
Now, we will see the entire offensive line coach Jeremy Pruitt and Vols envision this offseason.
In “Vol Calls” on Wednesday night, Pruitt discussed what happened when he learned that Mays was eligible (via 247Sports):
“When I found out, I walked all the way through the Anderson Center about three times, trying to find him, and he was studying film in the movie room, so I could never find him again.”; Pruitt said. “I finally let him talk on the phone. He already knew it, but he was very excited. I knew that for him, there were only unknowns. He did decide to leave where he chose to go to high school and really seized the opportunity. (When I moved from Central Tennessee to Alabama as a player).
“When you are in trouble, you will think of a lot of things, and I’m sure it is definitely his burden now.
It is not clear why no decision was made before last week’s opener, but at least Metz can now participate in the game. That makes Vols’ offense even better.
