The Texan fired Amy Palcic as vice president of communications in November, at least causing an uproar in the national media.
Jaguar has now hired Palcic to lead its communications team.
The new coach Urban Meyer announced the recruitment on Monday night and wrote on his personal Twitter account: “I am very happy to announce the important addition of @jaguars. We have hired @amypalcic to lead our communications team! Welcome to Amy Jacksonville!”
Palcic is the only woman in the NFL communications department.
Jamey Rootes, the team president at the time, insisted that he made an unwelcome move after the news that Palcic left Houston. Whether it was a call from Rotes or Jack Easterby, the executive vice president of football, was involved. According to reports, Parsic was told that she no longer had “cultural heritage.”
The departure of the Texans in the past four months has been an eye-opener. Bill O’Brien, Rootes, Palcic and JJ Watt are not in Houston. The biggest question remains: Will Deshaun Watson follow them out?
