The new requirements are designed to ensure that airport employees, airline employees and customers are protected from the coronavirus.

In a press conference on Thursday, Insley said that all businesses and suppliers at Washington Airport must comply with state and county health requirements, including social evacuation and wearing masks.

At a press conference on Thursday, Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines officials joined the governor’s ranks. The airline discussed the company’s agreement to ensure the safety of employees and customers.

Both airlines require passengers to wear face masks and restrict passengers from booking middle seats. Delta Air Lines said it had to put 300 passengers on the no-fly list because it refused to wear masks after the plane took off.

Delta Air Lines also announced a pilot program to check the temperature of customers flying away from SeaTac. A Delta Air Lines spokesperson said that passengers departing from SeaTac from 7 a.m. to 1

2 p.m. from Monday to Friday will walk through a thermal imager that records body temperature. People with high temperatures will take temperature measurements again, and if the temperature exceeds 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, their trip will be rescheduled.
