If Lawrence leaves Clemson early, he is expected to become the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He will be the two-time finalist and current Houston Texas quarterback quarterback DeShawn Watson (third in 2015 voting, second in 2016), becoming the only Clem Since the Heisman Trust officially recognized the finalists in 1982, he has been nominated as a finalist. Clemson has never had a Heisman winner.
This is the first time Alabama has multiple finalists, and this is the second consecutive year that multiple finalists come from the same school. Ohio State University’s Justin Fields and Chase Young were finalists in 2019.
All previous Alabama winners are Mark Ingram (2009) and Derek Henry (2015). Overall, there are 10 Heisman finalists in Alabama, and 8 of them were selected as Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban.
Trask is the fifth crocodile to win the Heisman award, joining Emmet Smith (1988), Danny Woolfy (1995, 1996), Rex Greg Rothman (2001) and Tim Taber (2007, 2008, 2009). Florida has three award winners: Steve Sperrier in 1966, Wuerffel in 1996 and Tebow in 2007.
The rest of the top 10 finishers voted by Heisman in 2020 announced on Thursday that Najee Harris of Alabama ranked fifth and Blaise of Iowa State University The concert hall is sixth, Ohio State University’s Field is seventh, BYU’s Zach Wilson is eighth, Notre Dame’s Ian is ninth, and Florida’s Kyle Pitts is tenth.
