Health Governor Wolf Announces Update of Phased Plan for COVID-19 Vaccine – CBS Pittsburgh

Harrisburg (KDKA)-Governor Tom Wolf and Dr. Rachel Levine announced a new phase of plans to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine in Pennsylvania.

So far, this is the fourth edition of the vaccine plan developed by Pennsylvania officials.

According to Levine, the state has refined which medical staff are eligible to enter stage 1A, and added stages 1B and 1C.

Levine said: “This update aligns our plan with the latest recommendations of ACIP and CDC.” “Phase 1A has been further defined to identify specific healthcare providers. Now, the population of Phase 1

B is much larger, among which Including elderly people 75 years and older, people with serious health problems, and necessary workers. This update also creates a 1C stage, that is, people aged 65-74 and those with high-risk diseases (such as cancer, COPD, hearth disease, and pregnant women) ), and those basic workers who are not in 1A or B.”

The basic workers in stage 1C include public safety officials, financiers and bankers, members of the media, government workers and judicial personnel.

Now, Phase 2 includes anyone over the age of 16 who has not participated in Phase 1.
