Earlier this year, Google gave Photos a new look and displayed a new “memories” tab at the top of the app. With the end of the year, the tab now displays an “year in review” story that will show you pictures for 2020 and even generate a photo album if you want.

This story will screen all the images you uploaded to the cloud backup service this year. Like other Google Photo memories, you can tap the edge to jump around, or you can choose to view all the photos of the day.

There is also an option to generate a book based on all the memories you see in the story-you can click on the “preview book”

; in the lower left corner and edit it to your liking. In addition to the memories you see in the story, Google will also add related photos that you think you like.

If Google Photos has not notified you of your annual review, you may need to wait a while-this feature still hasn’t affected all users.
