It is not clear why Google decided to add its central subscription center to hardware stores everywhere, but it may hint at plans to expand the Google Store to more than just a place to get phones and devices. With the gradual disappearance of the Play brand, I would not be surprised if the Play Store folds into the Google Store one day.
