Two days later, the employee received an email from GoDaddy’s head of security: “You received this email because you failed our recent phishing test,” Copper Courier newspaper reported.

Many social media users made a mess of GoDaddy and called deaf people during the coronavirus pandemic, which cost millions of people financially.

The company said on Thursday that it apologized to those who thought the email was “insensitive”, adding, “It takes the security of our platform very seriously.”

A spokesperson said in a statement: “We understand that some employees are upset about the phishing attempt and consider this behavior insensitive. We apologize for that.”
