A Chinese internet celebrity was called the “Glacier Bro” (Glacier Bro). It is presumed that he was last seen in the video and died after losing his balance near the cold waters of Tibet.
According to the BBC, Wang Xiangjun gained online attention by publishing a video of his visit to the glacier. He was exploring the waterfall when he disappeared in Lali County, northern Tibet, on December 20.
According to media reports, videos posted on Chinese social media platforms showed that a 30-year-old landslide near the bottom of the waterfall entered fast-moving cold waters.
Local authorities stated that they had started searching but could not find him.
However, a local official involved in this work stated that it is “almost impossible”
“He may be under ice floes. The water is 10 to 20 meters (32 to 65 feet) deep,” the official told China’s state-owned Global Times.
According to the Independent, his brother published a statement on Wang’s social media confirming his death.
The message said: “My brother will always lie in his favorite waterfall.”
“He has been obsessed with glaciers all his life, and at the same time dedicated himself to glaciers, this is the best place for him to rest,” it continued.
