After The Sun NASA observes a giant asteroid the size of an expected football field to zoom across our planet on May 18th.
The asteroid named JPL 8 is said to have made a near-miss with Earth and to rush past us at 2:21 am, just hours before the ceremony, noted Daily Star .

Although the British sources do not report how close the Earth orbit is It is expected that the space rock is approaching in football field size, and the news agencies claim that NASA has listed the asteroid JPL 8 as a near-Earth object.

The Daily Star indicates that the asteroid was recently discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey in Tucson (19659003) This near-earth space rock is an Apollo-type asteroid and could have done much damage to our planets when smashed. Experts believe that an asteroid hit JPL 8 would cause even more destruction than the 59-foot asteroid that crashed in 2013 in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk. This asteroid impact injured about 1,500 people and damaged more than 7,000 buildings, reports the Daily Star .
The media also showed that five more objects will safely fly past our planet until the date of the royal wedding. On April 10, astronomers announced that they had discovered around 2000 potentially dangerous asteroids, although none of these space rocks are currently on a collision course with Earth.
