Gamethread: White Sox at Cubs

I am looking forward to my last final exam of the year. Apart from the fact that I do not need to worry about other studies I have to do, my dad takes me for nine holes later that day. It's a fun, relaxed day. But when we got into our car after our lap yesterday, we turned on Ed and DJ and heard Carson Fulmer with Ben Zobrist in the first one. You know how it felt. We both just laughed at how embarrassing this year was for the Sox. You simply have no chance in so many of these games with this lineup. Not to mention that my mother is a die-hard Cubs fan … it's going to be a long summer. Not much room for mistakes against this Cubs lineup today …

  • James Shields gets the start for the White Sox today. I have great respect for Shields – he does not have his old, overpowering stuff, but he uses cunning and cunning to delve deeper into the games. He has thrown 12 2 / 3 over his last two starts and given up only four earned runs. He's a competitor and no matter how much he gives up Fernando Tatis Jr. will hurt in the future, you have to applaud Shields at least for his post-prime efforts.
  • Jon Lester gets the start for the Cubs today. There's something wrong when Adam kills Angel Lester. Well, something's wrong with Rick Renteria, who gives Angel the Leadoff role today. However, Lester has adopted a bounce pass-throw that Engel should easily beat a good bank. Overall, Lester is 2-1 with a 2.82 ERA.
  • The 0: 5 start marks the White Sox's longest win-free series to start the Interleague game.
  • Yesterday, the White Sox tied the 1948 team for the worst record at the 35-game mark (9-24). No other season is in three games from 1948 and 2018, so we're here in diluted air. And one loss today sets a new mark for the worst 36-game launch in the history of White Sox; the 1948 team won their 36th game and improved to 10-26

lineups …
