FRANKLIN, NJ – A 14-year freshman from Franklin Township High School died on Tuesday morning after undergoing physical education, according to several media reports. The ninth grade student reportedly collapsed and stopped responding to high school at 9:10 am during a physical education class, said Mary L. Clark spokeswoman for the Franklin Township School District.
CPR was conducted by staff and he was taken by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was pronounced around 11:15 am, according to Clark.
"We offer counseling to our staff and students, and our thoughts and prayers go to the student's family at this time," Clark said.
This is an evolving story. Patch will have more information as soon as it arrives.
