Fortnite developers confirm that the “disable pre-editing” setting is in progress

In each Fortnite release season, fans will put a major item on their wish list before it starts: the “Disable pre-editing” setting. For those who don’t know, this setting will prevent you from pre-editing the structure during playback.

Pre-editing can achieve its purpose under certain circumstances. For example, you may need to pre-edit the cone to make it easier to enter the opponent’s box. However, most players do not use pre-edited strategies, so they hurt the players instead of helping them.

It is common for players to quickly complete a series of modifications. Sometimes these players will edit a piece before placing it, leaving behind pre-edited walls, ramps, cones or floors. When they moved and placed the building, they exposed it until they were repaired.

With so many settings and custom settings in Fortnite, it seems strange that we didn’t see the option to disable pre-editing. Epic has mentioned it in the past, but seems to have forgotten the huge demands of the community.

Recently, after Epic added Duo Arenas back to Fortnite, a player posted to Reddit asking how many followers they needed to disable pre-editing. The Community Coordinator TheStevieT replied: “We don’t have a precise timetable, but we have to do it. Don’t worry about followers ;).”

Another player reposted the original Reddit theme, and gstaffEpic responded in the comments. “I can’t give an exact date yet, but like TheStevieT said, it’s in progress.” Ht also added: “This needs to be put into the build, and we are working hard to do this. attention.”

We might expect to see a “disable pre-editing” setting in Season 5, but we hope that this setting will be available in every recent Fortnite season, but we are disappointed with it. Assuming we are one month away from seeing it, this seems too real.

Even if we didn’t see this setting in Season 5, we are happy to learn that it is still on the desktop. Epic players are listening to the voice of the player base and will eventually add this requirement to Fortnite.
