Fort Wayne Animal Shelter urgently needs cat owners

Fort Wayne, Indiana (WANE)-Thursday is National Cat Day. To celebrate this, the Fort Wayne Animal Health and Control Bureau wants more people to adopt furry cats.

The shelter stated that as the number of cats has steadily increased in the past few weeks, adopters are urgently needed. The Animal Conservation and Control Department stated that anyone who intends to adopt should be visited at the shelter for adoption.

As of Thursday morning, all 40 cats and kittens are available for adoption, and there are 1

36 cats and kittens in care. More than 150 kittens in foster care are about to be adopted.

“Although our dog population has remained stable during the global pandemic, our cat population has not slowed down,” said director Amy-Jo Sites. “We work hard to find the best positive results for every animal that enters our house. When we face the challenge of lack of space, it will be a real challenge. We are imminent and must make these cute cats and kittens still daily Other cats that appear make room.”

The opening hours of the adoption center are from noon to 5:30 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and noon to 6:00 on Wednesday. Interested adopters can fill in the adoption application on fwacc.org.
