Jacksonville, Florida. -Health officials reported on Sunday that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Florida increased by 7,391.
Since the outbreak earlier this year, new cases reported on Sunday brought the state’s total to 1,271,979.
The Florida Department of Health has now reported 21,514 coronavirus-related deaths-the number of deaths increased by 77 on Sunday. Five of the deaths reported on Sunday were in northeastern Florida: two in St. Johns County, two in Aracava County, and one in Duval County.
In the past two days, the number of people being tested for COVID-1
On Friday and Saturday, more than 171,000 people were tested for the virus-significantly lower than the 343,000 people tested in the previous two days.
The California Department of Health said on Sunday that the statewide positive rate was 8.01% based on Friday’s testing and 9.69% based on Saturday’s testing.
According to the health department, more than 6,300 people died from the virus on Sunday.
Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, muscle pain, and loss of taste or smell. Most people only experience mild symptoms. But some people, usually those with other medical complications, experience more severe symptoms, including pneumonia.
