LONDON – A photo was taken of the Duchess of Cambridge, his mother, when he was just 3 days old
The other was taken on his 3rd birthday older sister, Princess Charlotte.
He is Prince Louis, the fifth in line to the British throne, son of Prince William and great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
Kensington Palace released the first two official photos of the newborn on Sunday, and there enough details about the pictures to satisfy the appetite of the royal fans.
A photograph shows Princess Charlotte, the prince's sister, planting a kiss on his forehead while he is fast asleep. This picture was taken on Wednesday, the palace said on the day she turned 3 years old.
She wears what the news agencies call a royal ruckus: a blue and white cardigan from her older brother Prince George, 4, for a family portrait for the Queen's 90th Birthday in April 2016.
In the other photo, Prince Louis is dressed in wide-open eyes and a calm face in a white pullover which Charlotte wore shortly after her birth according to The Sunday Times. He is depicted on a pillow and a blanket embroidered with a rose.
This picture was taken on April 26, three days after his birth, said the palace. (The Duke and Duchess celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary on April 29.)
The Duchess, an art historian, has published pictures to mark further milestones in her children's lives, including George and Charlotte's first days in kindergarten.
Louis was born in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London, weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces.
When newborns are registered in the UK, details of their parents' parents and occupations are included for the record.

The royal family is preparing for another big event: the wedding of Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle. Unfortunately, when the palace announced more details about the wedding on May 19, it became known that Louis would not join the rest of his family for the ceremony.
