Tennant avoided the traditional feminine aesthetics and sculpted an iconic, avant-garde image rarely seen in fashion shows. He died shortly before Christmas at the age of 50.
Her family said on Friday that she was “unwell for some time” and called her a “beautiful soul”.

The family added: “Stella has been ill for a while. Therefore, even though the people closest to us love her, it is our deepest sadness and despair that she feels unable to continue.”
“To mourn Stella’s loss, her family once again expressed their heartfelt request to continue to respect their privacy.”

Tennant is one of the supermodels representing the British fashion industry at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.
But after the heyday of her career, she occasionally discussed the pace of development of the industry, and eventually stepped back to focus on her family.
She told the fashion publication Document Journal in 2018: “The agency really doesn’t know what to do with me.” She discussed how fashion magazines moved towards a more traditional look in the 2000s. . “I thought,’Well, it’s not surprising. I spent my little moments, fashion is moving forward, and I will be moving forward.'”
She said: “I have gone all out and spent all my energy and time. Now we are leaving and have a family.”
Many famous fashion figures expressed their condolences for Tennant’s passing. Designer Stella McCartney wrote: “Stella, your soul and inner beauty surpass external perfection. May you always ride the most perfect horse and be the highest among all of us. Supreme.”
In an Instagram post, Naomi Campbell referred to Tennant as an “all-round classroom performance.”
