FRESNO, California ̵
Jeanette Ortiz was charged in 2015 with stealing $ 626 in cash from a safe in the restaurant in Fresno. Her supervisors claimed that the theft had been recorded on surveillance videos, but when Ortiz asked to see the evidence, she was told that it had been destroyed.
Ortiz issued an illegal termination clause. The Fresno Bee reports that last week the jury ordered Chipotle to pay $ 7.97 million in damages.
The panel decided that Ortiz was the victim of a plan that defamed her for applying for occupational injury insurance for occupational wrist injuries.
A spokeswoman for Chipotle on Sunday declined to comment on the jury's decision.
