Little is known about new projects now
Arc System Works already looks very busy in 2021, they are ready to support Guilty Gear Strive, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Granblue Fantasy: Versus, but it looks like they have added more to their plates.
During the “Dungeon and Fighter Universe”
DNF Duel is a new derivative product in the world of Dungeon Fighter Online, which aims to adopt a rhythmic MMORPG and transform the action into a more traditional 2D fighting game.
Dungeon Fighter Online was launched in 2005 and has since become one of the most popular video games in the world, with more than 700 million lifetime players, and as of May 2020, box office revenue exceeded $15 billion.
As for DNF Duel, the running engine of the game seems to be similar to another fighting game “Granblue Fantasy: Versus” developed by ArcSys, with all the anime aesthetics you currently have on the company.

DNF Duel does not seem to use a single character, but uses fighters based on the 16 main categories and 60 Advancements in the MMO, of which 5 appeared in the trailer.
So far, these characters seem to use the Advencement version of the class, where Berserker, Ranger, Grappler, Striker, and Inquisitor are all displayed here along with the gameplay.
As far as the gameplay mechanism is concerned, there is almost nothing to do, but there seems to be some special cancellation or similar function. Before performing the movement, you can see the character flashing at various points.
The eighth place, the former developers of “Bloody Roar” and “Marvel vs. Capcom 3”, will also contribute to the development of this game, although the scope of its involvement is unclear.
The project seems to be hosted by director chairman Ryosuke Kodani, who previously served as the chief curator in Dragon Ball FighterZ, was an assistant director of River City Girls, and previously worked with Arcana Heart 3.
Considering there are 3 ongoing projects, it is not clear how many fighting game teams are in operation, but two of them are only in the DLC season, and the eight-a-side competition during this period is likely to reduce the burden on developers .
No platform or release date was given in the original trailer, but previous records of ArcSys fighting games may at least appear on PlayStation 4 and PC.
