Disneyland will use COVID-19 vaccine

The Orange County Supervision Commission said on Monday that health officials will begin distributing the COVID-19 vaccine at Disneyland this week, making the resort the first “super” vaccination site in the county.

On Monday night, the county supervisor said in a statement that Disneyland will become one of five large “distribution point” locations that can vaccinate thousands of residents every day. The statement said that arrangements for other locations are being finalized.

Director Doug Chaffee (Doug Chaffee) in the area including Disneyland, said such mass vaccination sites are “critical to stop this deadly virus.”

The county said it expects health officials to begin vaccinating people at Disneyland this week. The first to qualify for the vaccine is the highest priority in the state, including workers in health care and long-term care facilities.

The county said it will contact most eligible people to make an appointment through their employer. No one will be accepted at the Disneyland site, and vaccinators must present their identification and qualification certificates before vaccination.

The county’s statement stated that effective distribution of vaccines depends on “everyone knows where they are in a phased, grading plan.”

Residents are urged to visit the OC Health Care Agency website www.covidvaccinefacts.com to determine when they are eligible for the vaccine. The county government said that those who try to “complete the plan ahead of schedule” will overload the system, “making it more challenging to meet this urgent need.”
