Disney Rumor Roundup October 2020

Welcome to the October edition of Disney rumors collection! You can view the installments for September 2020 here. The Christmas tree is about to hang now! But before we do that, let us delve into some rumors. Disclaimer: Any rumors mentioned in this article have not been confirmed by Disney and may never happen.

Disneyland and Resort

Disneyland is still the only Disneyland in the world that has not yet opened. California recently issued guidelines that allow the county to increase its openness to 25% when it reaches the yellow level of its recovery plan. Disney quickly responded to these guidelines, basically saying that they were dissatisfied with the requirements, which would cause the park to close for the foreseeable future. The guide also does not allow indoor queuing, considering some smaller areas of Disneyland, indoor queuing may be a problem.

Disney will open Buena Vista Street during the holidays. Since March, selected dining and retail locations will allow tourists to visit the park for the first time. This is likely to cause the same thing to happen in other parts of California Adventure Park and even Disneyland.

Bob Chapek recently appeared on CNBC and commented that the capacity of Walt Disney World parks is 25%. Now, he didn̵

7;t elaborate (and we don’t know the indicators they use for this), but some other sources say this is the case. Many people speculate that Disneyland has raised its capacity limit because the park looks more crowded. The appearance may deceive people. More and more people come to Walt Disneyland. As early as July and August, Disney had not reached the 25% ceiling.

Now they are getting closer and closer to the upper limit, which shows that the waiting time is longer and queues are flooding the sidewalk. Some other aspects that people forget is that there is a certain distance between the row spacing and the society, which causes the queue time to be longer than before. The ride also runs at a lower operating capacity than before. The rides like Pirates of the Caribbean don’t fill the entire ship, but just line up a few rows.

Magic kingdom

The 50th anniversary and everything it may or may not happen is still the main topic of the Magic Kingdom and the entire Walt Disney World. Disney recently did open rooms and packages for the official 50th anniversary and beyond. The latest rumors from multiple sources indicate that the shiny new roller coaster Tron, which is said to be part of the 50th anniversary, may not have done it. A source at WDWMagic said that it may not open until 2022. Work on the canopy covering the outer track of the roller coaster is still in progress, but that’s all we can see. This rumor is definitely worth paying attention to.

Last month, we had rumors that “Dark Night” might enter the magic kingdom. This possibility still exists, but given the pandemic, there is still a great possibility. Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover has been seeing the renovation project from now on until 2021. It is not even feasible for Disney to hold a fireworks display on October 1, 2021. Many people hope to see the plan announced soon, but I think Disney will wait as long as possible under as many uncertain factors as possible.

One thing we do know is that the toll plaza of the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the entrance to the Walt Disney World property are undergoing a facelift. The sparkling new colors are reminiscent of Disney’s 50th anniversary logo. As we approach the 50th, we may see more such color schemes throughout the Magic Kingdom area.

EPCOT

The electric umbrella no longer exists. The innovation area behind the wall continues to develop slowly. Considering the current situation and the disappearance of the festival center, we still don’t know what happened there.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The universe rewind is very similar to the situation of Tron. Several sources said that the Guardian will be pushed to 2022 and be seen as a supplement to Epcot’s 40th anniversary (that is, October 1, 2022). Everything is covered. Some people hope that we don’t have to wait too long.

According to reports, Remy’s “Ratuitouille Adventure” is being tested! Now, this does not mean that it will open soon. Multiple sources said that we are still looking forward to 2021, and the other two huge attractions may be delayed. This may be a new thing in 2021.

Finally, harmony is still advancing. The large ring for the main core barge has been installed. Recently, the exhibition was also licensed to work in the World Window Lagoon. The show is still watching its debut in 2021. I think a lot depends on the potential delays and when it is safe to fire fireworks.

Hollywood Studios

In terms of reservations, Hollywood Studios remains the most popular of the four parks. The rise of resistance is more consistent in operation, but production capacity is still low. Disney hopes to change this situation because they have installed plexiglass on the vehicles in an attempt to increase the number of passengers per vehicle.

Rumors also indicate that we will soon see the virtual queue expand to more attractions, including smugglers running and jungle cruises in the magic kingdom. Since the park reopened, there have been rumors about virtual queues, and as more people arrive, I don’t think anyone will be surprised to see this. Various virtual queuing systems have also been established in other Disney parks around the world.

Animal kingdom

Except for the new exhibition that is going on towards the end of Kilimanjaro Safari Park, not much has happened in Disney’s animal kingdom. The new guard station has been built, and rumors suggest that it will become a habitat for new types of goats. This area is still under development, so we will have to see the results.

There will definitely be new rumors and information in the coming days. For further discussions on all this and more, please visit the “Rumors and News” board on Disboards.com
