Denzel Ward is one of Cleveland’s two best defensive players. He will return to the team’s divisional matchup with the Chiefs this week.
But Ward hasn’t been there since being added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list on December 31. He said on Wednesday that after testing positive for the virus, he developed some obvious symptoms.
Ward said: “I was very sick.” Akron Beacon. Symptoms like flu, all the pain and chills all over the body. I was beautifully placed at home. “
Ward pointed out that he was surprised that he tested positive because he often wore a mask.
“It’s a bit rough.” Ward said, “I lost my sense of smell and taste. “All food tastes the same.” I’m really just picking food to get its texture, because I can’t really taste it. It’s not good. I’m glad I got over it. I hope everyone will continue to stay safe, wear a mask and try to beat it. “
In his third season away from Ohio State University, Ward was intercepted twice in 12 games this season, defended 18 passes and was forced to lose once.
