DC Capitol weapons suspect allegedly armed with weapons in deadly attack



Washington, DC police released photos of the knife used by the suspect in the fatal crash at the U.S. Capitol checkpoint on Friday, killing one police officer and injuring another.

The Metropolitan Police Department said its detectives, the US Capitol Police Department (USCP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are jointly investigating the murder.

William Evans, an 18-year-old military veteran, died on Friday after his driver smashed into a roadblock near the Capitol at around 1pm last Friday. Authorities said that Noah Green, who was identified as 25 years old, hit the officer and obstacles, then left the car with a knife and charged at another officer, then shot him fatally.

A photo released by the police on Monday showed a wooden handle knife lying on the ground next to the evidence marker.

DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the suspect and the second injured USCP officer to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect (later identified as 25-year-old Noah Green) was pronounced dead in the hospital. The injured second police officer was later released from the hospital.

In the chaotic moment after the attack, law enforcement officials initially believed that the suspect who attacked the police officer with a knife on the surveillance video tape might have stabbed Evans, but that was not the case.

U.S. Congressional police officials said that the investigation is still ongoing, but there is no sign that Evans was stabbed, chopped or shot.

Investigators are increasingly concerned about Green’s mental health as they try to determine the motive of the attack. The official said that investigators have learned that the suspect has delusions, delusions and suicidal thoughts.

In the deleted online post, Green stated that he was under the ideological control of the government and that he was being monitored. He described himself as a follower of the Islamic State and its long-time leader, Louis Farrakhan, and talked about the difficult times he was relying on his faith to get through.
