Data shows that since the start of the North Dakota school year, there has been a sharp rise in COVID cases in the age group of 19 and under

North Dakota Department of Health (Valley News Live)-North Dakota Department of Health data on COVID-19 shows that the number of student-age patients has increased significantly since the 2020-21 school year.

Looking at the number of people in Cass County from March 9 to August, there were 510 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the age group under 19 years old.

From September 1 to October 30, 1,076 cases have been confirmed, more than double the number reported before the start of the school year.

This also extends to Burleigh County, where the number of COVID cases has also doubled in this age group.

As of August, there were 332 confirmed COVID-1

9 cases in the county, and 781 cases have since been reported.

In Grand Forks County, the number of cases has increased sharply, with 290 cases reported from March to August, and 530 cases reported from September 1 to October 30.

There is currently no definitive evidence that these numbers are directly related to the school start date, but data show that since the beginning of the school year, there has been a sharp increase in new cases in the 19-year-old and younger age group.

We have attached the original data to the story.
