A jaw-dropping holiday on Belmont Avenue in Dallas showed that for many people, it was a time machine.
“The response is exactly what we want. People honked their horns and waved at us outside the window,” Katie Milam said. “We want to spread cheers, stupidity and playfulness.”
Katie and her husband Mike turned their house into a giant Nintendo gaming system, including Super Mario Brothers games played on makeshift TV screens.
“It must be Mario 3,” Milam smiled. “We like classics.”
It brought joy to dozens of people who stopped to take pictures.
