Currently, the top 25 players in the USMNT pool: Pulisic, McKennie, etc.

Thursday marked the resumption of play by the U.S. men’s national team, as the Yonkers without Christian Prisic faced Wales.

It has been exactly one year since our number one player in the USMNT pool reached ProSoccerTalk. The pandemic paused for a season, restarted a season, and started another season in the second season, less than two months after our third season.

In theory, even with the crazy changes on the roster caused by Gregg Berhalter’s recruitment of dual nationals and the recruitment of a very young lineup, the situation would not be so confusing.

Before moving on, how do we pick the top 25? Here are some basic rules:

  • This ranking aims to show who is most likely to have a positive impact on the USMNT game, regardless of manager or teammate.
  • If the current injury does not seriously change the player̵
7;s advanced technical level, then the health status is not important to our ranking.
  • Age/potential/experience is not important, at least it doesn’t matter much. If you are on the scene now, this is the possibility of your contribution to the team. Obviously, Conrad de la Fuente’s long-term prospects are better than Tim Rim, but the Fulham central defender is currently better prepared for the stage than the Barcelona youth.
