COVID Vaccine Update: A new pandemic air travel record was set at a US airport on Friday

New York (WABC)-Experts say this holiday weekend may be the busiest air travel since the pandemic began.

On Friday, more than 1.58 million people passed the TSA checkpoint. This is the largest number of people flying in a day since the pandemic began.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on the same day that Americans who have received full vaccination can travel with “low risk to themselves.”

However, the organization still requires people not to travel unless they must do so.

The following are today’s headlines:

New York Vaccination Update
Governor Cuomo announced on Sunday that at least 1 in 3 New Yorkers has been vaccinated against COVID, and now, 1 in 5 has been fully vaccinated.

Cuomo said that in the past 24 hours, the state’s extensive distribution network has administered 187,964 doses and 1.4 million doses have been administered in the past seven days. The distribution of the first and second doses of 1,389,705 in week 16 is expected to be completed on Sunday.

Cuomo said: “Because the universal applicability of this vaccine will take effect in New York this week, our goal is to continue to get as many vaccines as possible as quickly and fairly as possible.”

In his Easter speech, the Pope called the war “scandal” during the Great War
Pope Francis used him in his traditional Easter speech to condemn the continued raging of war and the spread of arms around the world due to the social and economic suffering caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This is a “scandal”.

Francis adjusted his speech on world affairs on Easter Sunday, with joyful wishes, and painful accounts from numerous armed conflicts and other sources of violence around the world. He also once again called on the international community to overcome the delay in distributing the COVID-19 vaccine and to ensure supply to the poorest countries. For the second Easter in a row, the pope read the address from inside St. Peter’s Basilica instead of outdoors, to discourage the crowd on St. Peter’s Square.

Due to the virus plagued the Easter holiday, Europe has stepped up vaccination efforts
Thousands of people across France are lining up to take the COVID-19 vaccine during the Easter holiday as the government is working hard to speed up the vaccination in the new infection boom.

In Lyon, a football team opened the stadium on weekends as a mass vaccination center and provided 200 volunteers to help medical workers. However, as Europe faces Easter for the second time in a row under the envelope of the epidemic, some cities in France have opposed President Emmanuel Macron’s insistence on vaccination during the long holiday weekend. Spain, Italy and Germany kept some vaccination centers, but others were closed due to holidays.

Easter celebrations in New York City
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the situation for Easter in New York this year looks a little different. The Easter Parade and Hat Festival held on Fifth Avenue each year will be held for the second year in a row, while the COVID-19 safety agreement for Sunday Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

PA relaxes restrictions, but the changes do not apply to Philadelphia
People living in Pennsylvania can also expect to relax restrictions. Starting Sunday, restaurants in Keystone State can increase their capacity to 75%. The restaurant changes do not apply to Philadelphia, where COVID rates and hospitalization rates have increased. It is estimated that by April 30, 50% of the city’s population will be vaccinated.

The UK will try out the virus certificate for the incident

The British government plans to test a coronavirus identification scheme in the next few months to enable mass gatherings in sports fields and nightclubs to return safely. Officials are expected to consider using passports to indicate whether someone has been vaccinated, whether they have recently tested negative for the virus, or whether they are immune because they have tested positive in the past six months.

With the increase in COVID cases, Michigan has not implemented stricter restrictions
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer will not impose stricter restrictions, despite the increase in new COVID cases in her state, on the grounds that residents need to follow appropriate health guidelines.

Beware of COVID vaccine investigation scams, “7 by your side” warning
With the increasing popularity of vaccines, new scams related to vaccination continue to emerge. First, there are fake record cards for sale on the Internet. The latest is the fake vaccine survey. These surveys will eventually attract you with promises of bonuses or money, but in fact their purpose is only to deceive you to hand over your identity key and enter your bank account.

Can I still spread the coronavirus after being vaccinated against COVID?
Coronavirus may still be transmitted after vaccination. Experts say that the risk is very low, but the vaccine is still being studied to effectively prevent the spread of the virus. Current vaccines are very effective in preventing people from severely contracting COVID-19, but even if the vaccinated people are not sick, they may still be infected without any symptoms. Experts believe that this vaccine can also suppress the chance of those who spread the virus.
Dr. Robert Gallo, a virus expert at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, said: “People who are vaccinated can better control the virus, so the chance of transmission will be greatly reduced.”
