After 33 new cases were reported today, a total of 2,171 county residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
All medical staff in Phase 1A are encouraged to fill out the “medical staff survey” linked below to invite you to the COVID-19 vaccination clinic. These include those who work in medical institutions or long-term care facilities, home health care workers, and community health workers (including promotoras).

Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Ian Hoffman said: “If you are a health care worker but have not yet been vaccinated, please register now.”; “In order for us to enter the next priority group, we need to complete the vaccination of health care workers. , In preparation for opening vaccine clinics to other groups including the elderly.”
The Humboldt County COVID-19 data dashboard has been updated to include “unknown” as an additional category of transmission type in addition to contacting known cases, obtaining travel, community transmission, and being investigated.
If the individual is: Those who test positive for COVID-19 will be assigned as “unknown”.

Cases that previously met these conditions were assigned as “under investigation.” Dr. Hoffman said that this new category will make the findings clearer.
“If your test result is positive, then public health will provide support for the safety of you and your loved ones. This means we need to talk to you.” Dr. Hoffman said. “Please answer the phone. Our contact investigators are here to help slow the spread of the virus. It takes all of us.”
