The county received 3,140 doses of the first dose of vaccine; at stage 1a, teachers are also eligible

Bend, Oregon (KTVZ)-This week, the Oregon Department of Health allocated 3,140 doses of the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to Deschutes County, so the county plans to make appointments for 70 or more vaccines on Tuesday.

It only takes two hours to fill all appointment vacancies.

The update at 11 am said: “The appointments for adults over 70 are now full.” “We expect to get information about the dose next week on Friday.”

“When appointment availability reopens, we expect to begin scheduling appointments for adults over 65,”

; the program will begin statewide next Monday.

As of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, adults over the age of 70 can make an appointment online or by phone to receive the first dose of the vaccine at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond.

Schedule vaccine appointments for adults 70 years and older:

  • The easiest and fastest way to make an appointment is to make an online appointment at www.stcharleshealthcare.org/covid-vaccine-scheduling-seniors.
  • If you are having difficulty registering online, please watch this video which outlines the online dating registration process.
  • If you do not have access to a computer or no one can assist you in registering an appointment online, please call 541-699-5109. There will be staff from 9 am to 5 pm 7 days a week. Due to the high volume of calls on this line, please be prepared to wait for the call or call back.

Those who qualify for stage 1a or stage 1b need to submit a certification form online. Staff will contact qualified personnel to arrange their vaccine appointments.

Federal Retail Pharmacy Program

Some retail pharmacies in central Oregon provide COVID-19 vaccines to eligible people through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program (COFID-19 vaccination). Due to limited supplies, there will not be enough vaccines at these locations to vaccinate all qualified Oregonians. You can make appointments in the following ways:
