Lethal Weapon is finished with Clayne Crawford .
Following complaints about his behavior on the set, it is reported that Crawford was fired from the Fox series and that the producers are trying to reshape Riggs so they can bring the show back for a third season. Shortly after the news of his departure from the series was broken, Crawford turned to his dismissal on Twitter. "Wait, wait, wait … you can not release me on my day off!" he wrote.
Just two weeks ago, Crawford reported after reports surfaced that his behavior threatened the series' chances of renewal. Deadline reported on "emotional abuse and the creation of a hostile environment".
In a lengthy statement, he described two incidents on the set for which he was allegedly reprimanded. He says he "reacted with rage" when he felt the working conditions were not safe, and then took responsibility for an incident during an episode he directed as an actor during a scene of a splinter was hit.
"I'm so incredibly sorry if my passion for doing a good job ever made anyone feel at ease on our set or feel less than celebrated for their efforts, "continued Crawford's Instagram statement. "In addition, I apologize to all crew members and work for any negative attention Lethal Weapon receives because of these incidents." On Tuesday, Crawford also took to Instagram to address his output, declaring that he is still to the year of Fox or Warner Bros.
"I hope I'm not fired !! Dang."
According to Hollywood Reporter Lethal Weapon attempts to re-occupy Crawford's role, with several actors already taking on the role of Martin Riggs alongside Damon Wayans as Roger Murtaugh.
Fox will be releasing its new and recurring series on Monday's Upfronts, but they have until June 30 to decide on actor contracts.
