Ganassi was also fined $30,000. Before waiting for any potential appeals, he was banned from participating in the NASCAR Cup series at Miami Hotstead Circuit this weekend. In Sunday’s race, Chip Ganassi Racing can still sign up for two races-the first Chevrolet of Kurt Busch and the No. 42 Chevrolet of Ross Chastain.
In addition, during a post-race inspection at the Daytona Road Circuit on Sunday night, two cup captains were fined $10,000 because their car was found to have an unfixed lug nut. The penalties were Christopher Bell’s No. 20 driver Joe Gibbs (Joe Gibbs Racing) team captain Adam Stevens (Adam Stevens), and the second team Ford Pan Jeremy Bullins, the team captain of Brad Keselowski, who finished fifth in Penske Ford.
