According to a press release issued by the county health department on Friday, a Catalogues County man who traveled to Maryland, one of the states on the New York restricted travel list, contracted the coronavirus.
The man is the 126th county resident who tested positive for the virus and now lives in the northeast corner of the county. According to the press release, he developed fever, chills, body aches and fatigue, and was tested for COVID-19 on Monday. His test results returned on Thursday, indicating that he was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracking investigation of the people he has been in contact with and the places he has visited.
There are 11 active cases of COVID-19 in the county; 111 residents have recovered and four died.
