Car crash escape in Virginia killed off-duty police officer



Authorities say a 33-year-old veteran from the Henrico Police Department was killed in a crash while leaving get off work in Virginia.

Donald Lambert Jr., a former special operations captain of the Department of Defense, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Henrico Police Chief Eric English said on Saturday: “We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate and untimely loss of Captain Lambert.

“He is a selfless leader, mentor and friend who has been proud and dedicated to our community for nearly 34 years. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, colleagues and friends.”
