Newman (CBS13) – Grants Pass Public Safety announced that authorities have arrested two people in Stanislaus County on suspicion of murdering a Californian man in a hotel in Oregon.
Just after 11 am on January 5th, the victim, 42-year-old Californian Ryan Antone Dutra (Ryan Antone Dutra) was found in a coma. He rented it at his Red Lion Hotel in Josephine County. He was shot on the floor of the hotel room. The law enforcement department of Oregon said. He was found by an employee of a hotel. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Derek and Tyra Smith
Authorities said that through video surveillance, mobile phone technology and license plate readers, they identified the suspects in Dutra’s murder as 41-year-old Derek Ian Smith and his wife Tera Lindsey Smith, 34-year-old. The law enforcement agency said that the two men may have returned to California when they were identified.
The California Highway Patrol, the Sacramento Police Department, the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office, and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in the investigation.
Authorities said that at about 10:30 am on January 6, the Smiths drove on Interstate 5 in Newman, Stanislaus County, and were detained without incident.
Both sides face charges of murder, robbery and illegal use of guns.
