If you have been waiting for the PS5 for a year or so, then tomorrow will be your own Black Friday and Boxing Day celebrations-November 12 (Thursday) PS5 will be officially released in the United States. Sony also offers two versions of the console: a $400 pure digital version and a $500 Blu-ray model. (As we suggested before, if you don’t need an optical drive for games or watching movies, we recommend that you buy a $400 optical drive.)
To be clear, we fully hope that every major retailer can sell out quickly. We will be surprised if the PS5 national reserve can survive. But unlike other stores, Wal-Mart has vowed (tweeting to customers) to provide segmented inventory throughout the day.
