Agent Mike McCartney said on Twitter that the Buccaneers are signing with quarterback Drew Stanton.
Stanton played for Bucs coach Bruce Arians in Indianapolis and Arizona.
The Buccaneers need a practice quarterback to replace Josh Rosen, who signed with 53 players of the 49ers.
Stanton, 36, entered the league in 2007 as the Lions’ second round selection. Since 2017, he has not participated in the Cardinals’ regular season.
He appeared in 17 starts in 38 games and has a 11-6 record. Stanton has thrown 4,059 yards, 20 touchdowns and 24 interceptions in his career.
