The UK will launch the coronavirus vaccine produced by Moderna from Wednesday, which is the third time the country has issued a vaccine.
The Welsh government stated that the vaccine will first be distributed in Western Wales and 5,000 doses will be sent to the vaccination center in the Hywel Dda University Health Council area.
“This is another important milestone in our fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Welsh Health Minister Vaughan Gething said in a statement: “The third vaccine used in Wales has greatly enhanced our face. The defense against the coronavirus will help protect our most vulnerable people. “
“In Wales, every vaccine given to someone is a small victory against this virus, and we encourage everyone to buy their vaccine when they are invited.”
The UK is already distributing vaccines produced by Pfizer BioNTech and AstraZeneca. The launch of the Moderna vaccine was about two weeks earlier than expected.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated that he hopes to fully reopen the British economy on June 21 before the vaccine is successfully distributed.
The government announced on Tuesday that three out of five British adults have received at least one dose. However, Johnson had to calm down concerns about the AstraZeneca shooting, while the British drug regulator investigated cases of blood clots spread among adults.
