The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department found the body in Lake Pirou, California, and actress Naya Rivera disappeared last week.
It is speculated that this “happy choir” star drowned after a swimming accident on July 8.
“It’s happening now: A body was found in Lake Pirou this morning. Recovery is in progress. A press conference will be held on the lake at 2 pm.” the department wrote on Twitter on Monday.
Last Wednesday, Rivera and her 4-year-old son chartered a boat. After she did not return to the rental station on time, the workers found the boat at the northern end of the lake. It was later discovered that her son was sleeping on the boat in a life jacket, even though Rivera was not there. However, her wallet, identification and life jacket are all on board. Her son told officials that he went swimming with his mother, and only he returned to the boat.
More than 100 people, including divers, searchers and law enforcement officers, helped her body, but failed due to dangerous conditions and poor visibility in the water. Last Friday, the scale of the work was reduced to about 40 personnel. Sergeant Eric Buschow said the search was mainly carried out using side-scan sonar equipment.
Rivera’s most famous characters are “Glee”, “Advanced: High Water” and “vious girl”.
