Lauder Hill, Florida -Authorities are investigating the fatal car accident in Lauder Hill on Monday morning.
According to reports, the crash occurred at Northwest 16th Street and No. 7 North State Road around 16:30 in the morning.
Lauderhill Police Lieutenant Michael San Diego said that the officer arrived at the scene and found two heavily damaged vehicles.
He said that detectives believed that the BMW involved in the crash was speeding north on National Highway 7, while Mercedes-Benz was driving south and then trying to turn left and driving east on Northwest 1
Santiago said that when Mercedes turned left, the two cars collided, causing the BMW to crash into a nearby bus stop.
The BMW driver was taken to Broward Medical Center, where he died.
Santiago said that the Mercedes driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
Lauderhill Police is investigating traffic accidents on Northwest 16th Street and NSR7. Starting from NW 12 st, all northbound traffic will be closed. Drivers are required to use NW 31 ave as an alternative route. @LPDPIO at the scene pic.twitter.com/yE3rrdlv7w

San Diego said that while investigators were dealing with the scene, North State Highway 7 and Northwest 16th Street were still closed. Drivers are required to temporarily use Northwest 31st Street as an alternative route.
