Bill Murray revealed that he was tricked into making “Ghostbusters II” after proving his unwillingness to make a sequel to the 1984 hit comedy.
Murray played the satirical Dr. Peter Venkman alongside Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and the late Harold Ramis. The Oscar-nominated actor won the Mardin Modern Master Award at the 36th Santa Barbara International Film Festival this week. In a virtual live panel discussion, Murray talked about his career and his desire to make a sequel.
He explained: “I am very, very reluctant to do this. I am absolutely not in a hurry. I may think that the only reason anyone wants another is to make money. And I may be the least willing.”
However, Murray revealed that he was attracted by someone and he attracted the entire actor to a conference to promote a movie, but ultimately failed to reflect the final “Ghostbusters II” script.

“I do not know [director Ivan Reitman] Set it up, but they let us go back to the same room. In fact, since the movie was released, we have never been together again. Being together is really fun.He said, “We are really fun together. These guys are so nice and fun. Sigourney [Weaver] Annie Potts are some very spectacular women, fun as hell. They got together and came up with a great story idea. I thought, “Holy cow, we can finish this job.”

Unfortunately, the script was changed between that meeting and before Murray and the others showed up.
“It’s not the story they wrote in the end. They brought us into the sequel under false pretexts. Harold [Ramis] With this great idea, but when we were about to shoot, I appeared on the scene and said, “What the hell is this? What is this?” Murray added, “But we are already shooting it, so we have to Figure out how to make it work.”

Although he pointed out that he prefers the first film, Murray did not call the sequel a bad film. In fact, he is one of many actors who insisted on the franchise and participated in the 2016 restart, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon Participated in the 2016 reboot with Leslie Jones. In the third installment of the classic series written by Reitman’s son Jason, he will replay the role of Wenkeman. Murray pointed out that although he felt very uncomfortable about shooting the next movie, he was very excited about the next movie, thus ending his thoughts on the “Ghostbusters” series of movies.

He said: “I think he does have something. It’s hard. It’s really hard. That’s why I think it will be good.
