Asus’ new Chromebook CX9 has military-grade durability

ASUS’s new Chromebook CX9 is a powerful product for Chromebooks designed for professionals. The price has not yet been announced, but it will enter the North American market in the second quarter of 2021.

According to Asus, Chromebook CX9 is equipped with up to 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processors. In a Chromebook, this is an unusual processor-students and more casual Chromebook customers usually don’t need the Core i3, but it is the best choice for advanced users.

It also packs the power supply into a fairly lightweight chassis that is only 0.63 inches thick (1

6 mm) and 2.2 pounds. Asus said that it meets the durability of the US MIL-STD-810H military standard, so there should be no problem with putting it on the body.

In addition, the new Chromebook supports Wi-Fi 6 and includes dual speakers certified by Harman Kardon. Asus said it “equipped with I/O” ports, including the new Thunderbolt 4 standard and HDMI output. It provides Titan C security, a security chip designed by Google specifically for Chromebooks.

Asustek also introduced Chromebook Flip CX5 and C536, these two consumer-oriented Chromebooks will also be equipped with 11th-generation Intel processors. These models will be available in the first quarter.
