As we reported before the release of the first developer preview, a major new feature of Android 12 is the advanced theme feature. Although these new options do not appear in the first developer preview, a smart developer can give us a preliminary understanding of the new theme tools in Android 12.
Last month, we shared that Google is developing this new in-depth theme system, which can be adjusted manually or automatically to match your wallpaper. Android developers Kdrag0n Some screenshots were shared on Twitter, which showed the latter option.
As shown in the image below, because it was manually activated on Developer Preview 1
Through our own research, our Dylan Roussel and Kyle Bradshaw discovered that certain files that the full functionality of “monet” relies on have not yet appeared in Android 12 Developer Preview 1. This may be part of the reason that it requires a lot of behind-the-scenes work to activate (we can’t activate ourselves yet).
At present, it is not clear when Google will release the Android 12 “monet” theme tool to users, but the Android 12 Beta released in the past few years makes the most sense. This year’s timetable will be released sometime in May.
