7;s first game with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday was disappointing. He scored 4 points on 2 of 6 shots. Although he is arguably the best rebounder in the NBA, he struggled to get rid of more than a month of fatigue and only got a single board. The Lakers scored 8 points in the 14 minutes he played, and left the game after the first half. Due to a contusion of his right toe, he was excluded after only a short stay in the third quarter.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel said that Drummond barely returned in the second half, but he wanted to give it a go. He is considered daily work and will be reassessed tomorrow. After the game, Drummond revealed that Brook Lopez stepped on his foot in the first quarter and injured his toe.

If he does need to miss any time, then fortunately the Lakers are in the center position. Drummond replaced Marc Gasol in Wednesday’s starting lineup, and Gasol didn’t play until the fourth quarter. This shows that the Lakers are willing to stick with Drummond and Montrez Harrell because None of their only big men was injured. Gasol and Harrell have allocated halftime this season, which is a particularly important position for Anthony Davis.

The Lakers hope that Drummond can help them move forward in the Western Conference playoffs until Davis and LeBron James recover from their injuries. They simply can’t afford more health problems, so I hope Drummond can recover in time to adapt to the Lakers against the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
