AMD stood out from the GeForce competition by showing off its Radeon RX 6000 benchmark

Cut corners: AMD claims that their upcoming Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs are on average faster than similar Nvidia products, and they are willing to use their original data for backup. This means that AMD may do its best to paint the RX 6000 GPU, select popular games that may have been optimized at the driver level, and use Ryzen 5000 series processors for benchmarking. It is said that they will be able to use Smart Access. Provides additional impetus to memory.

If you live on a rock, then the Radeon RX 6000 series is AMD’s response to Nvidia’s RTX 3000 graphics processor. In other words, RX 6900 XT (US$999) is aimed at RTX 3090 (US$1500), RX 6800 XT (US$650) is aimed at RTX 3080 (US$700), and RX 6800 (US$580) is aimed at RTX 3070 (US$500).

In addition to the benchmark tests that AMD showed during the graphics card release, AMD also released new and more detailed benchmarks that run internally using the following games: Battlefield V, Borderlands 3, and Cod: Modern Warfare “, “Second Division”

;, “Destroy Eternal”, “Forza Horizon” 4, Gear 5, Resident Evil 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and German headquarters. A total of ten games run at 1440p and 2160p with the highest quality presets. They include RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 2080 Ti for comparison, all of these results are posted on the AMD website.

We will test the Ryzen 5000 CPU next week, as well as the new Radeons that will be launched in November and late December. At the same time, AMD’s test platform used the unreleased Ryzen 9 5900X and 16 GB of 3200 MHz memory. The unique Smart Access Memory function of the processor is enabled. According to reports, the overall performance of the system can be improved by sharing resources between the processor and the graphics card.

Average frame rate

RX 6900 XT RX 6800 XT RX 6800 RTX 3090 RTX 3080 RTX 2080 Titanium
1440p (2K) 188 178 154 175 163 129
2160p (4K) 112 103 88 109 99 76

To the data itself. These are AMD’s bold claims, although they again use specific test platforms, these platforms may prefer its GPUs, these GPUs may lack balance, but will not make the test or results inaccurate.

The RX 6900 XT reaches 1440p on average, which seems to be 7% higher than the RTX 3090. RX 6800 XT is 9% faster than RTX 3080, RX 6800 is 19% faster than RTX 2080 Ti (almost equivalent to RTX 3070).

In the 4K benchmark test, profit margins have narrowed. RX 6900 XT beats RTX 3090 by 3%, RX 6800 XT is only 4% faster than RTX 3080, RX 6800 can easily beat RTX 2080 Ti by 15%.

The average does not show some other interesting results:

  • Although the RX 6900 XT is the fastest graphics card on average, it only beats the RTX 3090 in half of the games.
  • “Forza Horizon 4” and “Battlefield 5” support AMD graphics cards in a more overwhelming way. In these two games, AMD’s graphics cards are 1440p, ranking first, second and third respectively.
  • The only RTX 3080 that can beat the RX 6900 XT is 4K Partition 2.
  • RTX 2080 Ti ranks last in all benchmark tests. The performance of this GPU is close to the new $500 RTX 3070.

Although it is impossible to draw a correct conclusion before commenting, it seems that choosing the best graphics card will depend on the game you play and whether you have a certain value for ray tracing (AMD does not say much about ray tracing performance), DLSS or Smart Access Memory and other functions.

Overall, AMD’s Big Navi GPUs look impressive on paper, and we can only be happy to let them compete with Nvidia’s best rivals again.
