Amazon will open a new Razr box to fold the phone to ensure safe transportation

Motorola’s 5G-equipped Razr has been unlocked for sale, which means you can buy directly from Amazon. (It’s even $400 cheaper than the usual price of $1,399.99.) However, if you do order a foldable flip phone from Amazon, when you open the box, you will see an unusual sight: someone else has taken you The new phone is unboxed and folded for you.

(This deal is also available from Best Buy and B&H, presumably, they won’t have dirty gloves all over your new phone before shipping.)

As stated in Amazon’s product list:

RAZR was originally intended to be shipped in an unfolded position. However, in order to better protect the display, we folded your RAZR-safer, but the appearance may not be as elegant as we hoped. If you see your fingerprint on your device, we apologize, but we guarantee that your RAZR is brand new.

Razr’s unique packaging clearly caused this concern.

Both the original Razr and the updated models are included in a beautiful display box, designed to showcase your phone to the maximum. (It can also be used as a passive speaker, and its shape is designed to amplify the sound of a mobile phone speaker.) Nevertheless, Razr itself uses an expanded configuration to better showcase the 6.2-inch OLED panel.

But Amazon seems to be worried about the safety of shipping the $1,399 mobile phone because its display is large and relatively fragile. Therefore, the retailer opens the box, takes out the mobile phone, folds the mobile phone, and then reseals and sends it to the customer.

Is this an arbitrary suit against the fragility of Motorola’s foldable phones? Does Amazon take active and cautious measures to safely transport products? Who can say.

But this is why your new phone may be all fingerprints.
