Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite
Amazon announced two new Fire TV products at a large online hardware event on Thursday. Amazon’s Fire TV gadget can directly compete with Roku and Apple TV, allowing people to access popular applications such as Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, etc.
Amazon said that due to the spread of the coronavirus, people spend more time in front of the TV than before. It regards TV as the center of the family and hopes to have more functions in front of users to make TV repeat customers. According to an analysis report by Deutsche Bank in August, the new features may help it compete more fiercely with Roku, which still has a 50% market share in the global networked TV streaming time and has Strong growth opportunities.

Easy-to-find content, new user profile
The new Amazon Fire TV interface, which includes user profiles.
Amazon Fire TV vice president and general manager Sandeep Gupta (Sandeep Gupta) told CNBC that Amazon has received feedback from users indicating that the main screen is too confusing. Amazon has redesigned to make it easier to find what to watch and quickly jump into live TV.
“Today, you can search for comedy or Tom Cruise stuff, but we have tried to find a landing spot when you don’t know what to watch. This shows you free stuff, movies and TV Programs, broader categories, apps and more content,” Gupta said. Gupta said the Quick Access TV Guide will provide a familiar experience for people from cable TV to streaming media.
The new software supports up to six user profiles. This means that you can log in to your profile and view the shows and movies that Amazon recommends to you, while your important others can use a separate account to get their own personalized recommendations. You can also create a profile for your child to show only child-friendly content that you approve. Previously, you had to switch profiles in each application (such as Netflix or Hulu) to view the content recommended to you in those applications.
The latest software provides a new option to watch a video camera that supports Ring or Alexa on the TV through Picture-in-Picture when watching a movie or TV show, just like seeing a small window on the screen.
Finally, Amazon is expanding its Alexa voice assistant on Fire TV. Gupta told CNBC that although Alexa did not provide specific numbers, Alexa has received billions of requests, and in the past year, Fire TV requests increased by 80%.
He said: “This is a good indication that people like Alexa are using it more to manage shopping programs, recipes, whatever it is.” Now, Alexa’s response will pop up and cover only one part of the screen. Small part, so you can continue to watch or do what you want without being disturbed.
Video chat on Amazon Fire TV Cube

Separate from the Fire TV stick, although it is still part of the new software that will be rolled out to other Amazon Fire TV gadgets in the first quarter of 2020, it still provides new video chat support.
Users with a second-generation Fire TV Cube will soon be able to add a Logitech webcam for video chatting via Fire TV. It will support Alexa video calls and Zoom in the future. Since it requires a USB port found only on the Fire TV Cube, it cannot be used on the Fire TV stick.
New Amazon Fire TV Stick price and release date
New Amazon Fire TV Stick
The Fire TV Stick is relatively similar to the Fire TV Stick. Their prices are 39.99 USD and 29.99 USD respectively. If your TV and speakers support Fire TV Stick, you can support newer technologies such as HDR and Dolby Atmos. Both do not support 4K video and support up to 1080p, so if you have a 4K TV and want the best quality, please don’t buy them.
If you need 4K, check out the Fire TV Stick 4K, which is priced at $49.99 but is not included with the new software. Fire TV Stick Lite is more basic without Dolby Atmos and some more advanced Wi-Fi support to achieve more stable streaming. Both are said to be 50% faster than the previous generation Fire TV Stick, and both come with a voice remote control that you can use to talk to Alexa to open movies, TV shows, apps, etc.
Pre-orders for the new Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite will begin on Thursday and will begin to be delivered to customers on September 30.
