Chapel Hill, North Carolina -Officials at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill said Friday afternoon that the potential threat to people on campus has ended.
On Friday morning, university officials issued an alert that armed and dangerous personnel were near the campus. Around 12:30 in the afternoon, officials issued a “all clear” alert and said that no one on campus was under threat.
The authorities said that normal activities can now resume.
University officials said a man took a gun and walked into the outpatient service center near UNC Hospital on Mason Farm Road. He was found and then avoided the police.
