ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported that the Texas Rangers are finalizing a deal that will send second baseman Rougned Odor to the New York Yankees. The Rangers designated Odor as a task after the end of spring training, and for each Passang, Odor will absorb “almost all”

; of the remaining salary (two years and $27 million) in the transaction.

The 27-year-old Odor has shown the ability to hit 30 home runs in one season of his major league career, but has no other performance on the positive side. He has three 30-hour careers, reaching 10 in just 38 games last year. He is also the best on the tripod and rarely walks or hits. Through 3434 professional cricket appearances, his average score is .237, based on .289. In the past four years, his record is 77 OPS+. In three of these four years, he released negative WARs.

Someone may ask: What is the attraction of this? Well, Odor swings his left hand, we don’t know anything about the short right porch of Yankee Stadium. Of Odor’s 146 professional home runs, only 8 reversed, and 97 were withdrawn. In addition, almost all of Odor’s salary has been paid, and there is really not much risk in drawing the lottery here, especially when his home run goes up.

Don’t expect Odor to do anything like normal game time, he may actually eventually move to the alternate field and start the season as Triple-A. If he does get a spot from anyone, it looks like Tyler Wade or Jay Bruce.

The Yankees have a record of 2 wins and 2 losses in the young season of 2021, and will play the Orioles again on Tuesday night, hoping to break through .500 for the first time this season.
